100 days ago, I was challenged by a friend who thought I was way too chaotic to think of posting one photo every day. And everyone around me probably thought the same. She invited me to joing the #100happydays challenge and was looking forward to see me fail.

Today, I celebrated at Soneros de Verdad this real life example of “what if you’re right and they’re wrong”. And yes, proving you wrong while dancing to this awesome Cuban music really made me happy =). I was triggered to accept the challege because 71% of people tried to complete it, but failed quoting lack of time as the main reason. According to the 100happydays website, these people simply did not have time to be happy.
After participating, I have to disagree with this last statement. These people were most-likely too busy with being happy that they would forget to post a picture. At least, that’s what happened almost every day in my case. To be honest – participating in this challenge might have increased my unhappiness because of the same reason.
The website states that people participating in this challenge: 1) start noticing what makes them happy every day, 2) are in a better mood every day, 3) start receiving more compliments from other people, 4) realise how lucky they are to have the life they have 5) become more optimistic and 6) fall in love during the challenge.
Looking back at these 100 days, I think all these statements are very valid. I have met some really cool new people, have been to great concerts and festivals, enjoyed really nice holidays, had an awesome birthday party, got my dream job and spent the majority of my time in company of my friends and family. Yes, I realise how lucky I am with this life, but I have always been aware of this fact =). Did I really need this challenge for in order to come to this conclusion? I don’t think so.
